Q: Tell me about the new track thats soon to come out?
Danny: The new track is called Something Sick, and its being release on Jason Herds label.
Tez: Its being released in July- its got play listed by Pete Tong on Radio One, its gonna be the second track we've had out- we released one with Filthy Rich late last year, so its our second release, but Something Sick will be our first proper one.
Q: What record labels do you currently have tracks signed too?
Danny: Toolroom- with our re-mix of Herd and Fitz, Filthy Rich's label and we've got one on Jason Herds label.
Q: What other things have you been working on away from production?
Tez: We've been promoting our nights a lot- the Filthy Sessions brand, and djing a lot too. We're now Sankeys residents and we've got lots of plans for a few more nights.
Danny: Yes, we're going to take the Filthy Sessions brand out of Manchester- Leeds, Liverpool, Sheffield.
Q: Are you doing anything out in Ibiza this summer?
Tez: Nothing major, we've got a few bits lined up for some people who have invited us to go out there and play a few gigs- but as I said nothing major.
Q: You always DJ together, who would you say is a better DJ and who's talents lie more in production?
Tez: (Laughs) I don't know, I would say with us its kinda down the middle on both aspects. I know it probley sounds like bullshit, but for me...
Danny: No we work as a team, I don't do anything without Tez's say so, and visa versa.
Tez: In terms of production we always come down to an agreement, they're might be something Danny thinks will work in a track, which I don't like, but then we always come to some sort of agreement.
Danny: Its the same with djing, if I wanna play a track and Tez thinks it won't work then we'll go back to the records and start flipping through CDs and try to come to some sort of arrangement. We do have little cat fights like, but nothing major...
Q:So whats next for H2?
Danny: We're in the studio on Thursday working with a guy called Ingo Staar- he signed label to Darren Emerson's label Under Water, and we're currently doing a track with Jon Fitz- thats just a work in progress, we're in no rush.
Tez: We've got that stuff with Jason Herd
Danny: Oh yeah and we're currently working on a track with Jason Herd.
Q: What DJ';s are currently pushing your sound?
Tez: Well with Something Sick, now its been promo'd, we've got names like Eric Morillo, Axwell, Pete Tong, Jonathan Ulysses, Ben Macklin- so some really big names in terms of house music.
Q: You are pioneers of the electro sound- what would be your response to people who say the sound is a dying breed?
Danny: To be honest I wouldn't say we're electro dj's, we just don't pigeon hole ourselves, its just whatever floats our boat really.
Tez: The bulk of our sound is electro, but we do venture into other genres. If a record is Techno or Tech House, it doesn't necessarily mean we won't play it because its not electro.
Danny: If its a good track and it works, then we'll play it.
Tez: But I wouldn't say that electro music is dying either, there is not too much good electro around at the minute, thats the key I think. There is a lot of bad electro out there and its being over done.
Danny: Theres a few electro tunes that have gone commercial, being played on Galaxy etc, and people have started to think its gone too main stream. In terms of the harder, better electro thats around, it will never go mainstream- it is too hard and right for clubs.
Q: How cool is Mark Latham?
Tez: (Laughs)
Danny: (Laughs)
Tez: He needs his hair cutting
Danny: Yeah hes a good lad
Tez: A bit gay, but hes all right
